Artsy Talks offers older adults a unique opportunity to engage and socialize live on Zoom. Facilitated by Meredith Schroeder, this program presents a variety of discussion topics centered around works of art. Participants will enjoy several interactive sessions designed to inspire creativity, foster social connections, and encourage collaboration through the art-making process.

Thursday, October 29—Pop Art Movement. Ever wondered how a can of Campbell’s soup transforms into art? Join us to explore the Pop Art Movement, with its embrace of mass production and kitsch. Engage in an inspiring discussion about the origins of Pop Art, while taking a look at some of the movement’s iconic artworks and artists.
Thursday, November 5—Art that is Round. Experience an engaging discussion and visual presentation exploring the many ways artists use circles, spheres, and rounded forms. From playful shapes to powerful symbols, discover how roundness can inspire connection, movement, harmony, and fresh ways of seeing.
Thursday, November 12—Art Collaborations. Discover what happens when artists combine their ideas, skills, and perspectives. This engaging discussion and visual presentation explores works created through artistic collaboration, revealing how the creative process changes when art is made together.
Thursday, November 19—The Second City: Chicago Architecture. Discover the stories behind Chicago’s iconic skyline through an engaging discussion and visual journey across the city’s architectural history. From groundbreaking skyscrapers to celebrated landmarks, this presentation offers an inviting look at the ideas, styles, and people who shaped Chicago’s built environment.
