Affordable Housing
We offer three apartment buildings that are affordable and/or offered at below market rates through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The rental rate depends on a family’s gross income. There is a waiting list for most buildings, but applications are always accepted.
To qualify for residency in our buildings, the head of household must be 62 or older, and families must meet HUD income guidelines. The rent is set at 30% of adjusted gross income per month. Rentals include studios, or one or two bedrooms apartments.
Swartzberg House in Rogers Park offers your own private living space at a price you can afford. Conveniently located on Touhy Avenue, near restaurants, shopping, and the Bernard Horwich JCC, one- and two-bedroom apartments are available. Numerous community areas are spread throughout the building, offering a comfortable gathering spot with other residents, family, or friends. The Apartments are available to rent through HUD Section 8 income requirements, including the head of household being 62 years old or older.
