A message from Dan Fagin, President & CEO

Dear Friends of CJE SeniorLife,

October 7 marks three years since the Hamas attacks on Israel, when more than 1,200 people were killed and hundreds were taken hostage. For many throughout the Jewish community and within the CJE family, this anniversary remains a day of profound sorrow and remembrance.

As an organization rooted in Chicago’s Jewish community, CJE SeniorLife shares in that grief. Our connection to Jewish life, heritage, and community is central to who we are. Today, we pause to remember those whose lives were taken, honor their memory, and hold close the families and loved ones who continue to carry that loss.

Moments like these remind us of the values that have guided CJE for more than 50 years: compassion, dignity, and care for one another. They invite us to pause, reflect on our shared humanity, and stand with those who are grieving.

As we mark this solemn anniversary, we remember those who were lost, honor their memory, and hold close the families and loved ones whose lives were forever changed.

May the memories of those who were lost be a blessing.
