CJE SeniorLife Award Wining Culture Bus - Adult Day Services Program, Chicago and Northwest Suburbs, IL

One of only a handful of programs like it in the country, CJE SeniorLife's award-winning  Culture Bus* offers older adults with early Alzheimer's or other forms of early-state dementia a unique opportunity for stimulation, education and recreation through art, drama, history, music, dance, architecture and more.

An award-winning concept of CJE SeniorLife and Northwestern University’s Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s  Disease Center, Culture Bus participants socialize with peers while participating in day trips to various cultural sites and events in metropolitan Chicago and the suburbs.

Culture Bus was designed with the vision of offering different levels of cultural experiences and socialization. The main intention of the programming is to challenge the senses, inspire imagination and expand knowledge about ourselves and the world. Members will bring home pamphlets and flyers from a trip site whenever materials are available. These can help inspire further discussion and reminiscing.

Highlights:

  • Guided tours of various exhibits and venues.
  • Creative self-expression activities.
  • Delicious lunch at local restaurants.
  • Conversation and socialization throughout the day.
  • Respite for the caregiver.

A pre-enrollment screening is required. For more information about Culture Bus call 847.492.1400
