One of only a handful of programs like it in the country, CJE SeniorLife's award-winning Culture Bus* offers older adults with early Alzheimer's or other forms of early-state dementia a unique opportunity for stimulation, education and recreation through art, drama, history, music, dance, architecture and more.
An award-winning concept of CJE SeniorLife and Northwestern University’s Cognitive Neurology and Alzheimer’s Disease Center, Culture Bus participants socialize with peers while participating in day trips to various cultural sites and events in metropolitan Chicago and the suburbs.
Culture Bus beenwas designed with the vision of offering different levels of cultural experiences and socialization. The main intention of the programming is to challenge the senses, spark fantasy, inspiration and imagination and expand knowledge about ourselves and the world. Members will bring home pamphlets and flyers from a trip site whenever materials are available. These can help inspire further discussion and reminiscing.
- Guided tours of various exhibits and venues.
