Your Investment, Your Impact
Two-thirds of CJE SeniorLife’s clients receive free or subsidized care. Your donation secures the life-changing essential services on which seniors across Chicagoland depend. Our donors (individuals, corporations and foundations) provide much-needed contributions that annually fund services and programs to tens of thousands of individuals and their families. Your support sustains our comprehensive network of housing, healthcare, community services, education and much, much more. Because CJE SeniorLife accepts gifts of cash, stock, and securities, your gift is as individual as you are. Donate online!
Annual Funds
Many CJE SeniorLife programs and services are made possible through ongoing support from our general operating funds. Countless donors are personally touched by CJE. They frequently make a generous financial donation that supports a broad spectrum of programs including home-delivered meals, nineteen Shalom buses, and home health services, as well as community outreach and education.
Often your annual gift can be matched by your employer or, if you are retired, your former employer. Ask your employer’s Human Resources staff for details. Many employers also provide opportunities for their employees to automatically support CJE through a monthly payroll donation. Many donors report that participating in these types of programs is easy. More importantly, their support has a large impact on the programs seniors depend on every day.
Tributes and Memorials
Perfect for marking all of life’s events, including the loss of a loved one, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, Bar/ Bat Mitzvahs and more, a tribute or memorial sustains the quality programs that reflect CJE SeniorLife’s commitment to seniors and their families.
Special Occasion Cards
These beautiful cards feature the pomegranate from our logo, a significant symbol throughout Jewish art, literature and history which represents our commitment to Jewish Values for Positive Aging. Packets of five cards and matching envelopes are available for purchase ($50) from the Development Department at 773.508.1025.
Major Gifts
A major gift to CJE SeniorLife has a major impact by funding expanded and enhanced services. Larger gifts can be designated for a specific purpose or benefit the entire Agency and may be connected to recognition opportunities.
These gifts are special and distinct from annual gifts you may consider making to CJE. They may include donating stocks or other appreciated assets. Since donating appreciated stock or property to CJE enables you to deduct the fair-market value of the investment asset, while avoiding capital gains tax, these types of donations increase the value of your gift and reduce your taxes. Please consult your legal counsel and tax advisor for specific details.
Planned and Endowment Giving
The soul of a great institution can be found within the people who nurture and sustain it. Planned and endowment giving has an impact for generations to come. Whether you give during your lifetime, or through a bequest, endowment giving offers you tax benefits, free management services, and expert advice to help maximize your tax-favored charitable giving.

Created in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Chicago, CJE’s Endowment Foundation ensures that the needs of our community’s older adults are furnished today and tomorrow. Often these types of gifts inspire others to make similar contributions, enhancing CJE’s ability to provide services today and in the future.
CJE Endowment Foundation
Our CJE Endowment Foundation offers donors a broad range of planned giving opportunities. You can leave your legacy from a variety of assets. Whereas annual contributions are used for current needs, the principal of an endowment gift remains intact, expanding resources for future generations through its yearly income.
Charitable Bequests
Making a charitable bequest by will and/or living trust is an important part of long-term funding. Through these gifts, donors may be able to make a larger contribution than they could make during their lifetime.
Suggested Language for a Bequest: I give $____ (or specified property) to the CJE Endowment Foundation as an unrestricted gift.
