Home Delivered Meals
Through Title III, CJE can provide the home delivery of one to two hot kosher meals for older adults who are unable to shop and/or prepare food. All meals provide for calorie controlled, diabetic, low fat and low salt diets. Frozen meals, available during weekday delivery, may be used for weekends. Meals are delivered between the hours of 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Meals are not delivered on Jewish or national holidays. CJE also provides home delivered meals through the Managed Community Care Program. Eligibility regulations, prices and menu options differ according to the funding source and the client's location. Kosher To Go
Like to eat but hate to cook? Leave the shopping, cooking and clean-up to us!
CJE SeniorLife delivers a delicious selection of freshly frozen, cRc certified kosher entrees and soups right to your door. Our chef-prepared meals are affordable, easy-to-prepare and serve. Each entrée meets one-third of the recommended daily nutrient value for an adult.
Prices range from $2.75 for one of our homemade soups to $8.25 for one of our assorted entrées and $9.25 for the traditional Beef Brisket entrée. You may order as few as four meals at a time or enough to last several weeks. All Kosher To Go entrées and soups can be heated in a microwave or conventional oven. Complimentary delivery is included for any order of seven items or more. A delivery fee of just $1.50 is added if your order is less than seven items. You can terminate service at any time without any cancellation fees or costs. CJE is known for its delicious kosher food that is available to people throughout Chicago for events, holidays or a special dinner party. Select from a variety of items, from main courses to deserts. Organizational cRc Certified Kosher Food Program
Does your organization want to provide cRc certified kosher meals to meet the special dietary needs of prospective patients or clients? CJE SeniorLife can deliver a selection of chef-prepared fresh or frozen kosher entrées and soups, fresh sandwiches and salads to your organization. Join other hospitals, care centers and group dining environments that have added this frequently-requested benefit to their dietary program. CJE SeniorLife’s Home Delivered Meals program has been awarded $12,431 through a Walmart Foundation grant to the Meals On Wheels Association of America (MOWAA). The funding will support program expansion in the northern suburbs. It will provide CJE the ability to replace aged food heating equipment, as well as repairs and safety upgrades to delivery vehicles, which is critical to continue serving older adults who rely on CJE for kosher meals on a daily basis. The grant will help CJE to continue to efficiently provide kosher meals to our many clients in need and will truly make a difference for the seniors in our community.
